Please be advised that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have adopted the Home Valuation Code of Conduct (HVCC) as of May 1, 2009. This affects the process of appraisal ordering for assignments associated with obtaining mortgage loans (appraisals for the purposes home purchases and refinancing). We strongly recommend that you contact your specific Lender Representative for clarification on whether the HVCC applies to your specific appraisal needs. Consultation with your Lender Representative should be the first step in the appraisal ordering process for all appraisal assignments. At the present time, the HVCC does not apply to appraisal ordering for "non-lending" related appraisal assignments.
